In 1987 the iconic Inspector Morse hit our screens and Oxford became the centre of the show. A large portion of the filming of the show was in Oxford, showcasing the characters trying to make the streets of Oxford safe. Spinoff Lewis and prequel Endeavour kept the detective stories in Oxford alive.
Explore Oxford with fellow Apothecaries and guests with experienced tour guide, Hannah Field, who will lead us on a two-hour walking tour of Oxford’s historic buildings and their links to the TV detectives.
We will meet in the Ashmolean basement café ready to start the tour at 11.00am which will end at Vincent’s Club, off High Street, at 1.00pm for lunch. We will have a three-course lunch, with wine or a soft drink, before we head for home.
The number of places is limited to 20 and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
Refunds, minus a £5 admin fee (per ticket), will be offered, upon request, to anyone cancelling for any reason up to six working days before an event. After this time, no refunds are available.
The Livery Committee is the Society’s members’ social committee and is separate from the main Society Programme. It operates outside of the governance of the Society, and uses a money-pooling system for all of its events. Net receipts collected by the Society on their behalf are passed to the Livery Committee.
